Fiber ribbon flat cable uses an optical fiber ribbon as the optical transmission medium. It is covered with a layer of aramid yarn as the tensile strength member, and the outermost layer is extruded with a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or low‑smoke, halogen‑free, flame‑retardant (LSZH) sheath.
